All About Me and the Smart Strength Training Website

Ryan

This whole website is really about you, not me. It represents my desire to help you lead a healthier lifestyle with factual information that you can really use.

I started playing baseball when I was eight. It was fun of course, but as time went on, it became a passion, a way of life – not just playing the game, but the training, the discipline, the sense of becoming stronger both mentally and physically. This enthusiasm stayed with me over the years as I studied biochemistry in college and, ultimately, it was a prime motivator in my decision to go to med school to specialize in sports medicine.

I have always been interested in healthy living and maintaining a strong mind and body. This goes to the core of my being. All the things I am passionate about arise from this.

This site, now numbering about 118 pages, arises from that enthusiasm. I want you to learn what I have learned over the past 16 years of strength training coupled with untold hours of study and research into the subject, not to mention actually living the lifestyle promoted on these pages.

Through my vigorous endeavor with sports, sports training and progression into overall strength training, I have learned a great deal about the right way to improve health, wellness, strength and nutrition. There are many unfounded myths circulating about how to exercise and how to eat, some of which are downright unhealthy. I am hopeful that the information contained on this site will help dispel some of those myths and get people on the right path to a much healthier lifestyle.

Whatever you take away from this site, you can be assured that the principles of fitness-training and nutrition explained and promoted on this site are founded in solid medical and scientific research. None of it is hype. None of it is written in an attempt to get you to buy anything. It is written to give you the correct information so that you can make the best decisions you can about your health and fitness.

Thanks for visiting! You may want to add this site to your RSS reader so you can stay abreast of new and updated pages as they become available. Subscription instructions are noted on the Smart Strength Training Blog page.
