Are Your Protein Supplements Too Much? Probably.

Protein Supplements

Protein supplements, shakes, pills and other powders have become today's fitness craze - the fact is that this has really been blown out of proportion. The Atkins diet was the beginning; the South Beach Diet followed in the same footsteps as they both promote a dramatic increase in protein intake. But is there any reason to take any more protein?

An Intro

Due to the recent interest in nutrition and fitness, researchers and marketers have
desperately
been trying to invent new ways to help people lose weight, build muscle or increase athletic performance. Why desperately? Well, there's money to be made.

Instead of giving you the accurate information you need about nutrition and how to eat healthy on your own, they tell you what you should eat or what muscle building supplements to take as if there's some magical formula that will melt fat off your abdomen or build bigger triceps. In fact, this "mystical" feeling is what drives people to buy supplements they don"t need! Let"s think about it...

If you walk into a general nutrition or vitamin store, you'll be overwhelmed with all kinds of supplements. It'll look like a warehouse full of pills, tubs of protein powder, creatine, diet pills, and all kinds of things that'll supposedly make us "fit". The goal for them is to make their products appear to "work together". For example, if you feel you need more protein in your diet (as many Americans incorrectly believe), you'll probably opt to purchase protein powder. But, if you want to maximize you're efforts in the gym, you'll also want creatine. What about your muscle definition? You want to see the muscles you're building, right? Right!

So you head on over to the diuretics aisle and pick up some diuretic pills to get rid of all the excess water surrounding your muscles. Heck, while you're at it, you might as well pick up some diet pills to help shed off some fat. Now that you've spent n early $200 on all your supplements, you're going to be the talk of the gym with your rippling muscles. Right?

Wrong! You can't buy your muscles or your skinny waist. Purchasing all kinds of supplements and diet pills will soon make you realize the endless money pit the "fitness" industry has become. I have the only secret there is to building muscle, losing weight and being "fit". Here it is...are you ready?

Diet and exercise!

Yes, protein supplements can help in some instances, but usually it just creates more problems.

Learning how to eat and how to work out are essential to meet any sort of fitness goal you have for yourself. This is the bottom line.

So, what's the story behind protein? You just heard me bash the whole money-making pit that is the fitness industry - let's learn the absolute truth behind protein...use the above table to help guide your research!
