An ordinary push up workout can be made extreme with the addition of a weighted vest. The beauty of it is that you can implement a weighted vest into any applicable exercise, whether it's jogging, sprinting, pull ups, agility exercises, and much much more, including a push up workout! ;) Increase power, strength and overall results from your training when you add a weighted vest!
Are you ready to get started?
I know you all know what a push up looks like. But I'm here to add a hip extension to the mix. That's right, I'm always adding more dynamic moves to the exercises to increase overall results. The more muscles involved, the better! Variation is key in order to avoid that dreaded plateau.
First, get into a good push up position with your back straight, hand shoulder-width apart and your toes touching the ground. There should only be four points of contact - both hands and both feet. Now, extend one leg maintaining a straight line from the tip of your toe all the way to your head. Remember to breathe!!
Lower yourself towards the ground with only your arms until your face is about 3 inches above the floor or ground. Return to the starting position. Do about 10 and switch to the other leg.
Important -- It's extremely important to maintain your posture throughout the exercise. It's natural to allow the leg to fall with each repetition, but please keep that leg up! It's good for you and your hip flexors. :)

| Step 2: Slowly lower yourself towards the ground using only your arms. Keep your back straight and don't flare out your elbows too much. You can bring your hands closer together to make the exercise harder | ![]() |

Remember to keep you butt and abs tight and your legs straight (both of them!).
