Great Sources of Protein

Good Sources of Protein

You may not be aware of just how much protein you're getting. Even I have fallen into this trap – so now I’m trying to reduce my protein consumption. Heck, I was taking in too much without even taking protein supplements! Understanding where you're getting your protein can help rid yourself of this problem. The table below outlines some good protein sources in your diet.

Good Protein Sources
SteakGround BeefSandwich MeatPork
RibsChickenLambShrimp
Tuna and other fishYogurtEggsMilk
NutsSeedsSoybeansCheese and other dairy

This is definitely not a complete list, but it’s a start. It’s just important to realize how much protein you’re actually taking – more is not always better! If you had a chicken sandwich for lunch, try to back off the protein a little for dinner. Everything must be done in moderation! Taking protein supplements means you should reduce protein consumption in your diet which isn't really a good idea to begin with since you'll be excluding other vital nutrients only available in food.

I’ve written another page about the quality of proteins – check it out to understand how the types of proteins in your diet can make a difference!
